As you know, for quite some time I
have shared the need of a new building for our church, because the
contract on our present store-front location will terminate in October.
This is a photo of the inside of our
present location. It is a store front location as part of an
apartment building. The maximum number of people that we could
seat comfortably is 80.
Up until now Margi and I have
rented the present facility at approximately U$S1,000 per month
which caused us to fall behind in our own personal budget by $150
per month last year. We did not mind doing this, knowing that the
congregation could not begin to cover such costs, because of their
overwhelming poverty. We have come to the end of our own financial
resources however, and to continue paying the rent would be very
difficult on us personally. We simply do not have any more money
especially when the rent increases in October.
For the last three years we have
raised U$D110,000 toward the purchase of our own facility. It
is essential that we pay the entire amount cash for two reasons.
ONE: It gives us bargaining power for a better price.
TWO: We do not have access to borrow and pay interest on an
outstanding balance.
Recently I launched out in faith
to look for a building and to my surprise I found one even in a
better location then where we are presently located.

This newly renovated facility will
more than meet our need. Not only will it seat about 400 people but
is located in a highly residential area, only a few blocks from
where we are now. When Margi and I saw it we were thrilled with the
incredible potential in this building.

The purchase of this
property will send out a clear message to those in darkness that we
are here stay and not just a passing voice. It will be a constant
reminder to our growing congregation that we are called to be a
perpetual light to those that walk in darkness.
It will also provide stability in an ever changing political and
economic climate. In short, it will be our own building and we will
no longer be victims paying rent in an environment where such costs
are forever increasing without limits.
The owners are asking U$D280,000.
This is an excellent price when compared to everything else in the
downtown core where we are ministering. Many have come and gone, but
we have made a long term commitment to preaching the gospel here and
staying the course.
OUR REQUEST
I am asking my family, my friends
and the many churches that have helped us touch so many lives here
in South America to help us buy this property. If every one can do
something, in just a few weeks we together can submit a realistic
offer to purchase.
This is not for personal
profit or gain as it will belong to the Assemblies of God of
Argentina.
Our vision is to plant a
church, deep, strong and far reaching here in the downtown core of
the Federal Capital of Argentina. We believe God has called us raise
up leaders, missionaries and pastors here in this very densely
populated area of the inner city.
Summer is just around the corner
up there in North America. Many will enjoy well-deserved vacations
and family outings. I am simply asking that you prayerfully consider
a donation toward this building as soon as possible so I can make an
offer. I ask that you not give out of necessity, but
joyfully and prayerfully consider what the Lord would have you do.
